Ruffle Size
How do you make a full size coverlet become a twin size coverlet?
I recently just bought a coverlet in a full size b/c Walmart did not have the twin size. I need to know how to make it smaller. Can I just cut it and hem it or is it more complicated? Please answer, I am in a difficult situation.
Oh I forgot to mention that I have a daybed so it can only fall onto one side- full size is really long and it does not look so great
Spread it out on the floor and measure the same distance from the edge of one side and one end. . Mark it with masking tape or draw a continuous cutting line for best accuracy. Either way, you’ll have to plan how to finish off your cut edges. If it’s made like a quilt, you may be able to turn the front and back under, towards each other, and then sew with a topstitch. Or you could get blanket binding and do all four sides so it looks the same all around. If there is a ruffle, just set it aside and then put it back on after you cut.
If there is a design in the center, you’ll have to cut some from all 4 sides and then decide how to finish the cut edges.
